So unsettling. It conjures horrific images in your mind without blatantly depicting the horror you know is just yards away. A smart, innovative and thoughtful take on the Holocaust, yet it doesn't have any of the vision or power of many of his predecessors. It lacks the punch, the bitterness and the aura of tragedy that would give to this kind of neo-realistic take the right amount of strenght to overcome its being-boring plot.
