There was absolutely zero reason for me to like this movie, i am not particularly fond of cars and racing, i don't even drive. Yet, i like it. There is something appealing in this movie. I don't know how to put it in words, i am not a native English speaker. Maybe it captures the 70's Zeitgeist. Maybe it's because it is raw and honest. I like a lot road movies and this is the definition of a road movie. Not much things are happening, still i found it interesting to watch. I didn't even like the characters neither disliked them. Was it really a poetic movie, as many reviewers have said here? Or this estimation is just a projection? After all, if one claims this was dull, which counter- arguments can be made? I don't have the answers. Neither does this movie. And maybe, this is the reason that so many people liked it. It doesnt't try to solve the mysteries of the human condition and the whole universe. The whole movie is just an observation. And some times, we don't have to think nor react. Just contemplate. Or even better, just empty temporarily our heads.
