With its two leads and Lolita-esque suspense-thriller theme "Miller's Girl" shoulda been great... but debut writer / director Jade Halley Bartlett grotesquely overcooks it. Martin Freeman (married to Dagmara Domincyk - the best here) is a writer come English Lit teacher at a small Tennessee school with pal Bashir Salahuddin (good) where pretentious, angsty, arty, 'talented' student Jenna Ortega (hot rising star til THIS) falls for him and/or sets out to seduce him (with unwitting pal Gideon Adlon). Everything about Ortega's character (with her dire dialogue terribly delivered) is so laughably cringe-worthy it drags the whole film crashing down. A disappointing stinker. Flush it away.
