A Distasteful Christmas
19 December 2023
There are a lot of ways a Christmas comedy can work. It takes clever creativity and a lot of right continuity to make them worthwhile. Eight Crazy Nights however not only misses the mark of that direction, but probably the most distasteful Christmas movie I have seen. The only thing it got right is that the animation can be decent. Everything else is awfully executed that regards the movie's overall mean spirited tone. This would result with a story that doesn't exist and would only provide an entire series of unfunny jokes. All the jokes apply is tending to be gross, repeat the same jokes over and over, and Davey treating everybody like garbage. Speaking of Davey, he and all the other characters are very unfunny, very obnoxious, and very unpleasant. It does try to lighten up the tone with the songs, but a lot of them are completely underwhelming. And to top it all off, this features some of the worst voice acting ever put for an animated movie. Everybody either underacts or tries way too hard to be overly comedic that makes me beg for all that to just end. I highly recommend you guys to stay away from this film unless if you want to see why most of Adam Sandler's past movies are a joke. And this is definitely no exception. But you know what, at least he has began to improve in some of his movies lately. But even so, this is not just no different than most of his other movies, but also among the worst Christmas comedies for the way it presents as a very unpleasant experience.
