Kandisha (2020)
One Way Out...
10 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
After a young girl (Mathilde La Musse) is beaten and nearly raped by her violent ex-boyfriend, she invokes the demon of the title to take revenge. Unfortunately, KANDISHA is not satisfied with only one victim.

This is a supernatural cautionary tale, adhering to the "be careful what you wish for" tradition. Directors Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury make things interesting, allowing the ancient, legendary horror to play out in a contemporary urban setting. The characters are believable, and never over the top. The creature is suitably terrifying, and the deaths are brutal and merciless.

An occult film with a definite mean streak...
