Yet another horror film that centres around a monster that goes unseen whilst delivering plenty plenty of naked woman and an inexplicable amount of blood: because it's cheaper and easier than delivering a decent film.
You know how people actually react when they see blood? Even a little? Not here. This woman spends a lot of the film covered in shiny red blood in public and no one pays any attention. In fact the men around her just want to have sex with her in spite of the blood.
Men are dealt a bad hand in this film. They are mostly either lustful pigs, abusive, or useless.
The creature, when it shows up, is poor. It would have been okay if it got more screen time, it would have been fun, but it's not good enough to warrant a brief shocking appearance.
I blame Alien. Ever since that film came out filmmakers have said "Alien is great even though you hardly see the creature, so we'll do that, just show it at the end for 5 seconds."
It's rubbish. Go and watch It's Alive (original, even the sequels) or The Unborn (original), or Xtro, and even The Suckling.
