This was a very original way to shopw how our addictions to everything from which water to drink to designer drugs, we consume each other. In this case literally!
If you come from a family with any of the "curses" of the flesh, this makes total sense, albetit, a graphic representation of the realities of living in a society of hyperconsumption and look around you!
We indeed consume our children, parents, each other, relationsips and the only character that actually tried to break the cycle was "crazy" and "locked-up" doomed to live hyper-medicated and still unable to escape the result of her choices....the daughter, who in spite of her efforts is doomed to repeat the cycle.
