If you watch this movie, you'll immediately see how dated it is and not all of it is convincing anymore, mainly the special effects and the acting performances. However, many of the character deaths in the movie were handled very well and Clancy Brown was really great on screen a few times. I wish he was in the movie more. While the CGI isn't that good now, the design for the aliens was pretty cool and much of the production and directing felt ambitious with the kind of movie they were trying to make for the time. It felt like a more campy and larger-scale version of Aliens (1986) with more humor and a much more lighthearted tone. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, however I didn't have the worst time watching it. It was a decently entertaining ride! The gore and gross alien stuff were fun to watch!
