With all the negative reviews I knew this had to be a good film! Sure enough those who like Barbie didn't like Simulant 😉
Simulant offers a realistic view of the near future, unlike Bladerunner which gave a totally exaggerated unrealistic view.
The screen compositions were all creative and artistic; the plot was a superb interplay of "who in fact is souless"; and the dialogue, for once, was clear (unlike so many movies today).
The star, a simulant, was a tall Tom Cruise lookalike who acted like Tom Cruise does in real life: empty headed and unintentionally stupid. Add just a dash of Will Ferrell stupid and you get a truly memorable albeit accidental star performance.
The plot allows us to take a pick as to who is the most souless. My vote goes to the simulants human wife who's awful paintings capture her vacuousness.
