Warning: Spoilers
In the Lifetime canon of "soft" male characters, Cam Wilson has descended into the lower depths. The spineless and groveling Cam is living a pity party full of self-loathing and inadequacy. In every scene in which he appears, the knife is driven deeper into the strong masculine virtues all too absent in our culture today.

Cam's wife, Lacey Celeste Wilson, is a dynamic podcaster of true life crime, ably assisted by Bianca Garcia. Unfortunately for Lacey, her current case will involve Cam and the two daughters he brought to their marriage, Kira and Maddie.

The protagonist Lacey was highly motivated in her podcasts due to the death of her beloved sister Jocelyn. The sisters had a motto of "one half, one heart." Jocelyn's murder has left Lacey scarred, and her podcast affords her the opportunity to raise awareness about violence to honor her sister.

While there was an intricately detailed plot and a wide range of characters, the pacing of the film was sluggish and talky. On too many occasions, there were filler moments when Lacey's baby kept kicking.

The film was crisply directed with especially good interior and exterior locations. The screenwriters deserve acknowledgment for a creative plot twist at the end.

Still, the close of the film was operatic in its excess of a physical and emotional struggle. And once again, Cam is sitting down, head in hands, moping and blubbering while bodies are flying around the room. No worries about toxic masculinity in this film.
