Didn't expect such a mediocre and bland movie.
For a movie that puts emphasis on the ocean, it sure created a bland environment. Character designs are fine, but nothing particularly fun. The voice acting doesn't feel right. Lines that should've been amusing fell flat. The casting feels a bit misguided. It uses the 'parent lies to you and no one communicates' trope in such a drab seen before way. The action scenes are incredibly boring; you have krakens and mermaid the fight should be epic but they're just slightly moving towards each other. It's a shame because you can tell the animators know how water affects movement, but it isn't utilized to make action scenes look good.
