I watched the series before I was even aware that there was a pilot. Missing Persons is different in tone to the series and you can see where the ideas started to germinate, The pilot itself is very good, but so damn sad at times, your heart breaks for Edith. There are a lot of clever moments and the ending really shows the acting chops of both actresses playing Edith and Hetty, this is an emotional tour-de-force. Although I found the tone more dour, I still enjoyed it but I prefer the more toned down Hetty in the series . This is a good movie/pilot and an interesting start to the actual series.
