Mosquito (1994)
4/10
I found myself rooting for the mosquitos.

Mosquito (1994) is a movie that I recently watched on Prime. The storyline follows an alien vessel crashing on planet Earth that kills the aliens and an ooze seeps into a swamp. A few mosquitos absorb the ooze and consume the aliens turning them into unstoppable killing machines. Can anyone stop them?

This movie is directed by Gary Jones (Spiders) and stars Gunnar Hansen (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Ron Asheton (Smokin' Aces), Steve Dixon (Legion of the Night), Tim Lovelace (High Crimes) and John Reneaud (Stardust).

This is a classic bad 90s horror movie with terrible writing and dialogue and a weird soundtrack. The mosquitos and special effects for them aren't great but is far from the worst part of the movie. The mosquitos are huge and make you laugh. There's no real worthwhile character to root for so I found myself rooting for the mosquitos.

Overall, this film has poor writing and no real redeeming aspects. I would score this movie a 4/10 and only recommend it if you're looking for a worthwhile bad movie.
