Does it have a plot? No.
Does it make a lick of sense as a found footage film? No.
Do they explain where the lady friend went? Maybe. I probably wasn't paying attention.
But the effects are decent for a movie of its budget. And of course the acting is good with the cast being a bunch of friends known for their voices in cartoons and video games. And they are having a lot of stupid fun playing make-believe in the desert.
So yeah, it's about lights in the Arizona sky. And some ATVs. And frat bro banter from guys in the 30s. But they play it fairly dumb and it gets them into a big mess.
Poor Liam though. Those aliens really wanted him on their table first - if you know what I mean. And who could blame them. He's always the vulnerably sweet type so prone to getting hurt. He just needs TLC and to not be put right by the window! First rule: Liam must be protected!
