Watch it and keep an open mind...

One star reviews are usually given by viewers who dismiss a film because of a flaw or two. One would think the casting of Ranbir and Anushka would have been enough to garner at least some (deserved) praise, as if the excellent songs weren't enough. Not to mention Aishwarya whom I'm not a big fan of gives a fairly good and understated performance. Too many Bollywood viewers don't like movies that take risks or ones that give just a small glimpse at reality (God forbid). This is Johar's most mature and least self-indulgent film. Kal Ho Na Ho and Kucch Kucch Hota Hai are classics and deliver in so many ways (especially the former); Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is slower, but more self-assured; a more appropriate film to deal with the modern relationships of today. Very worthwhile and underrated.
