I have watched this masterpiece countless times. Every time, I feel happy, romantic, uplifted, sad, horrified, hopeless. The soundtrack, the story, the unfortunate reality of our world. It's the ultimate human condition. Raw. Real. Riveting.
This continues to be my favorite Indian motion film of all time and favorite love story. I remember watching this at the cinema. Now, I watch it on Netflix every so often and my husband marvels at how I cry every single time. It's as if I am watching it for the first time every time. Very few movies can do that. Bombay is exceptional in that regard and only comes along once in a lifetime.
