Love and Fury (2016)
6/10
Easy on the Eyes

The film is based on a thinly veiled self-biographical novel by Anja Kauranen, which depicts her relationship with Harri Sirola, a fellow writer. He suffered from severe bipolar disorder, and later committed suicide.

The actors, sets, costumes and the city of Helsinki look great, but everything seems a bit too stylised and clean, and the acting is not the best. The dialogue feels often wooden, and the intensive love the main characters are supposed to feel towards one another just doesn't come through in a believable way.

Luckily this film isn't overlong, and it keeps itself together despite it's shortcomings. Visually it's a pleasant film to watch, and since the rest is tolerable, I recommend it for people who are interested in the subject or the era.
