Doc Martin (2004–2022)

The Doctor Is In!

Dominic Minghella is a genius.

So is Martin Clunes.

What a brilliantly funny comedy/drama about the trials and tribulations of Doc Martin (Clunes at his best) a medical professional whose bedside manner...well, putting it nicely, leaves a LOT to be desired. There is no warm and fuzzy with Doc Martin, who fights through his aversion to blood whilst administering treatment in his gruff way to the residents of the fictional Cornish village of Portwenn. As good as Clunes is - his one-liners and facial expressions steal the show, each and every week - the assortment of other random and sometimes weird characters in the village, notably bumbling village constable PC Joe Penhale, Bert and Al Large and the kooky chemist Sally Tischell (whose infatuation with Doc Martin is one of the funniest subplots) means there is never a dull moment. The Cornish coast makes a spectacular backdrop.

Ten seasons of brilliance, this show will not be forgotten anytime soon. Fantastic stuff.
