6/10
This is another uneven Tyler Perry movie

The Single Moms Club (2014) is a movie that I recently watched on Amazon Prime. The storyline follows a group of mothers who are called into their children's school after their children got in trouble together. The mothers are given two options, plan the next school dance together or have their children expelled. They decide to work together to plan the school dance and find the task more daunting than they anticipated.

This movie stars, is written and directed by Tyler Perry (Diary of a Mad Black Woman) and also stars Nia Long (The Best Man), Amy Smart (The Butterfly Effect), Terry Crews (White Chicks), Zulay Henao (Takers), Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids) and Cocoa Brown (Ted 2).

This is another uneven Tyler Perry movie with some great aspects, some awkward scenes and some unrealistic sequences that seem forced. Terry Crews was outstanding and hilarious in this and there's some hilarious segments - the "ass tagging" comment, the "smoking impact on boobs" reference and the funeral wreath scene were laugh out loud funny. However, Tyler Perry hitting on Nia Long felt weird. The office scenes and conversations with Wendi McLendon-Covey felt unrealistic. I will say I thought the ultimate ending was good and wrapped up the various sub plots perfectly.

Overall, isn't a fantastic movie but it is an entertaining watch. I would score this a 5.5/10 and recommend seeing it once.
