This series was a pleasant surprise. Billed as a drama it is really quirky with gentle comedic elements. There are definite Killing Eve vibes but it is no rehash, more of a season one sensibility of that show which is no bad thing. Still manages to also deal with the scheming and moral bankruptcy of the GDR without forcing it.
Jella Haase as Kleo is a joy throughout ably supported by Dimitrij Schaad as Sven.
The series rattles along at a cracking pace, and you do have to suspend disbelief at times, but it doesn't detract from the sheer joy of the storytelling. Just don't expect a dark thriller and I guarantee you will have a smile on your face.
