The least romantic ending to a rom com ever, which ruined the entire movie.
Which was also a shame. The lead actors were quite good and they had chemistry together.. The premise was both timely and interesting. The plot, though predictable from the premise, was ok. The movie was funny until the ending.
But the ending. The ending was atrocious. By their very nature rom coms require a happy, and most importantly romantic ending. We do not get that here.
I think I get what C. Bailey Werner, the writer, director and lead actor, was going for. That is, to be "artistic," subvert the genre, and end with dark comedy. That, however, is not what people are looking for in a rom com. Very disappointing.
