don't like Tom
8 August 2022
The Seacoast National Bank Building a fictional skyscraper in Manhattan. The owner David Dwight is in trouble both personally and professionally. Slick bank teller Tom Sheppard uses every trick in the book to get Lynn Harding (Maureen O'Sullivan). She's the secretary to David's mistress Sarah Dennis.

I don't care about most of these characters. I really don't like Sheppard. I'm sure that he's some gals' taste and was probably funny back in the day. He's just so handsy and full of schemes. Even Lynn knows that he has a high opinion of himself. It's a different time in courting. Maureen O'Sullivan is adorably cute. The fact that she willingly accepts Tom for who he is does help. More than anything, I don't care about David Dwight. He's only slightly better than his greedy business cohorts. In a way, it's a realistic look at business elites. There are no heroes in the boardroom. In another movie, Tom would be the hero and he would save the day somehow.
