The movie is fun. It is also about female empowerment, but in a lot less get revenge way. Which makes it more effective and pleasant to watch. The actresses were clearly having a good time, and loved sharing it with the audience. I can get passed the silly action sequences, because it never shied away from making fun of itself and being aware of the series corniness. And it also does it in a respectful way, that is free of today's sarcasm and condescension. The supporting actors and cameos, are great additions (Tom Green is a thing of the past though, and thank god for that...) And the cinematography and music, are perfect for the retro meets modern days feel, the movie was aiming for. It was pure entertainment and done accordingly, with a very uplifting and light approach. It's one of my guilty pleasure movies. The sequel is ok too...
