Seeking redemption before it's too late
19 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Terminally ill Maxwell O'Connor (an excellent performance by John Gavigan) wants to return from exile to make peace with his family before he dies. However, his still angry crime boss brother Whitey (well played by Joe Estevez) who he wronged still wants to exact revenge on him.

Director Vin Morreale Jr. Relates the compelling story at a constant pace as well as maintains an appropriately sad and serious tone throughout. Maxwell's desperate deep-seated need for redemption gives this film a good deal of depth and poignancy.

The fine acting by the sturdy cast helps a lot: Gregory Patrick Agnew as concerned priest Father Victor, Bob Elkins as frail, but kindly old guy Matthew Quinn, Matt McCoy as the friendly Father Boyle, Rick Canino as dutiful henchman Adrian, Pepper Sweeney as loyal pal Eddie, and Amanda Miller as estranged daughter Bethany. A nice and touching little film.
