The Twin (2022) is a Finnish horror movie I recently watched on Shudder. The storyline follows a family that moves to the country in hopes of getting over the loss of a child. The family had twins but lost one. As they try to live a normal life with their remaining son the house may bring the other twin back into the family's life.
This movie is directed by Taneli Mustonen (Lake Bodom) and stars Teresa Palmer (Lights Out), Steven Cree (Maleficent) and Tristan Ruggeri (The Witcher).
The storyline for this while not new is very well executed. The family dynamic and characters are very well established. The circumstances are entertaining and the settings and towns people are well utilized to create an eerie feel throughout the film. The old lady neighbor was creepy and the background story of the town and putting your hand on the rock is wel told. The ending was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the final reveal and everything that happens after.
Overall this is a fairly creative, well done addition to the horror genre. I would score this a solid 7-7.5/10 and recommend seeing it once.
