A Solicitor's clerk helps an Army Corporal, who's attacked an important German visitor, and run off to The Eastern part of Germany.
I enjoyed this, a very satisfying, gritty, authentic post cold war thriller. It's quite an engaging story, it's multi layered, and perhaps a little complex, but it's ultimately rewarding.
I loved the setting, that part of Germany at this time was very communist in appearance, worlds away from present day Germany.
Good to see authentic use of language, why now do we always now get foreigners speaking with accents, not in their native tongue, this added to its authenticity.
Cracking cast, the two leads, Thaw and Turner were great, but the supporting cast, Rodger, Baker, Anholdt etc were great too.
I'm surprised there are so few reviews for this, definitely worth a look for fans of apt thrillers, and fans of the late great John Thaw.
8/10.
