The first film I've seen created by René Laloux is Fantastic Planet just like most people here, it impresses me a lot : weird,intriguing and primitive painting style,and then I search for René's other works imagining into his imaginative world. Gandahar made it and didn't let me down. This film succeeds FP's animation style and many bizarre elements just like freak creatures,people with primitive faces and wearings,imaginative tech background and so on. Undoubtedly I like this movie's uncanny picture expression,but to be frank the story itself seems not surprisingly in a way especially considering recent too many science fiction stories about time travel and doomsday salvation.
