As a huge fan of the anime and the manga i was really dissapointed with the main character. I really wanted this movie to be good and love it but i couldnt stand the main characters over acting. I know Xin is kinda behaving this way in manga/anime but he acted way to much like a thug and was a bit to angry all the time aswell. Also Did he really have to have these weird expressions and acting like a thug almost every scene? That really destroyed alot of the scenes for me.
As an example the scene where they are meeting the mountain tribe and Sei ''the king'', is trying to get convince the mountain people to fight for him but is having a hard time, xin starts to talk and has this really good moment in the anime where he manages to influnce the mountain tribe to help the king and even though Xin kinda acts like a idiot all the time he sometimes can speak very well and influence people but here in the movie he acts like a brute and his facial expressions just doesnt work with the scene at all and the scene is not nearly as good.
Well even though im dissapointed with the main character acting i still enjoyed alot of the moments in the movie, so i would still recommend it to kingdom fans out there to give it a try!
