Better than alot of recent UK comedy 'quiz' shows, but obvs triggering some
29 October 2021
Much better than many of the plethora of comedy quiz/panel shows that UK domestic channels are churning out at the moment. Funny, interesting and informative and showcasing new and-not-seen-enough 'black' comics, as well as other minoritised and/or ally talent. Host Jimmy Akingbola is relaxing into his role and the two team captains Chizzy and Judi do a great job. Entertaining and educational both on history and cultures, but this unsurprisingly is triggering to a certain type of viewer. Ignore biased overly negative reviews and try it if you're up for a giggle and maybe a bit of a politics or history nerd of any shade. This review has apparently been approved but it has not been published for more than 3 weeks - this seems to happen to reviews for 'black' programmes, yet when I review non-political or 'white' programmes the reviews appear almost immediately (interesting, and somewhat reflective of snowflakey responses of a certain type of audience member who is triggered by broadening cultural and historical understanding)
