Intoxicating terror
9 September 2021
We all know about that psycho neighbor,.whose anti social days are spent, causing fear and instilling terror, inside the hearts of innocent neighboring residents. But very few, have felt the the menace, and hateful wrath of decorated ex fire fighter, Lyle Wilder in one terrifying, and take note performance by Charlie Sheen in what I regard as one of his best. He is truly a nut, and causes an intoxicating terror for the viewer, in this nifty solid thriller. I haven't encountered a character this terrorfyng in a many years. He holds a personal beef with the family next door. Sheen's luscious ex wife and the wife of the other family neighboring (Winningham, fine as always) use to talk a lot, see. Now, what has ensued, is, a menacing duration of nimble retribution, blaming the family for his wife and kid, leaving him. The catalyst for Sheen, finally tipping him, over the edge is by accident of model airplane, that destroys a window of his. Oh no!. I really admire BDOTB for it's intensity, and suspense. You really feel it for nearly all of the film. I really like too, how the story plays out. It has a real smartness to it, but I really couldn't understand the cop's initial slack back, attitude to Winningham's cry for help, or how they were first fooled by Sheen's reversal play, putting it on the husband, and how they would believe him. Still BDOTB is a must watch. Ratzenberger as the male veteran cop, is compelling to watch tolittle o. It is a very well acted film, and an obscure treasure, which must be sought out. Bad day makes for a great watch.
