This movie was extremely difficult to watch. Mostly because I suffered the same abuse when I was a kid, and it triggered some haunting memories. I don't regret watching it though. There were so many scenes where the boys showed so much courage! It's easy for adults to scare kids into keeping their mouths shut. I really felt the emotions that the film was trying to have the audience feel. Heartbreak, fear, sadness, and thankfully there were a few moments of comic relief to break it up and releave the hard emotions. There is a second part that Ill be watching, as this part of the movie didn't have a hopeful ending. Because of that, I suggest not watching this movie, unless you're going to watch the 2nd part.
