Intriguing, exciting, but poor acting!

Warning: Spoilers
Laura is a character that is supposed to be tenacious and driven, as well as extremely intelligent. She is played overly emotional however, and almost as a bit of an airhead which ruins the character altogether. Laura lets her daughter Serena walk all over her and call all of the shots. Serena is a brat, and an annoying one at that, and acts more like a spoiled teenager than a normal 8-year-old child. This makes the character unbelievable. I think the show was trying to write her as spunky but they failed miserably. Her obsession with a pop star at 8 years old is very farfetched. Great acting on the part of Nico, however. He's a very believable character and a very relatable character. You want to root for him pretty much from jump. He gives Laura as a character a bit more depth but it feels like he's always having to rescue her from herself. The plot in general is fantastic and I really am enjoying the show thus far, I just really wish that Laura could have been played by someone besides Paula and Serena had been written differently.
