The idea was entertaining enough. The mom of Oliver was such a bad parent. I feel like this was not part of the design of the story though. Forcing her autistic kid to be around kids who he has no prior relationship with bc his speech therapist strongly suggested it. Telling him to stop humming to himself while he was clearly upset bc she's mad at him. Yelling why can't you just be normal while he's already so upset he's spinning around and yelling and then immediately after this she decides to let him know his father got in an accident and might not wake up. Hello?! Your kid is autistic lady!! You can't do that kind of thing. You also can't force interactions from them as much as you'd like to or think that's how people are supposed to act. Then she decides to tell the awful speech therapist about this whole ordeal with Larry?! Like are you trying to get social services called on you? Again, aside from most of the actions of the adults in the movies being terrible, ignorant, stupid, and highly insensitive, the movie was an ok horror movie with the whole Larry monster and how that was shown. The parents thing I'm talking about definitely hurt the overall quality of the movie though.
