Review of Dead Country

Dead Country (2008)
1/10
An Exceedingly Bad Low-Budget Zombie Film
12 March 2021
This film begins with a renegade space ship attempting to evade an attack by a more powerful space ship close behind. Unable to evade his pursuer any longer, one of the occupants named "Orion" (Andrew Merkelbach) manages to transport himself to a nearby planet just seconds before his ship is completely destroyed. It's then that Orion learns that he has landed in the Outback of Australia and that a virus has been recently unleashed that is causing the residents of a small town near him to turn into flesh-eating zombies. Stranded with no hope of rescue, he remains determined to find other people to assist him in finding a cure before things get completely out of control. The problem is that everyone he meets seems to also be infected. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was a really bad film from start to finish consisting of horrible action scenes, bad acting, awful makeup and cartoonish special effects. Admittedly, it does have numerous scenes involving some rather attractive scantily-clad women here and there which helped to brighten the scenery to a certain degree. Unfortunately, none of them were capable to saving this exceedingly bad low-budget picture and I have rated it accordingly.
