I was hoping for a great fantasy adventure film, but the writers and director clearly were more interested in starting a film franchise like the Mummy or Raiders of the Lost Ark than creating a great stand alone film. The pace could bore you to death and the acting only so so. The production and sets were the high point and were outstanding. However, not enough was put into this first film and the fact that a sequel never materialized, indicates what a let down this one was. The ending was so contrived and just simply stupid.
