More mummy melodrama.

Warning: Spoilers
Enjoyable, a bit campy but oh so familiar, this is colorful and action packed, violent yet somehow cheap looking with sets that warble quote noticeably. It's the tale of the tomb of an Egyptian prince who was rushed out of his father's palace when a rebellion occurred to overthrow the pharaoh. Millennium later, the tomb is opened and a curse is unleashed on the Egyptologists (Andre Morell, David Buck, Elizabeth Sellers among them) who broke in. The guardian of the tomb (John Phillips) brings back to life a devilish mummy who seeks to kill all those who invades the sacred burial ground with a gleaming fortune teller (Catherine Lacey) taking great pleasure in forecasting a violent death for members of the expedition who visit her, somehow feeling tortured by what they have done.

This is fun as it gets into the developed plot, but the first half is frequently dull until Lacey appears to grinningly tell potential victims of the mummy that their time is limited. She chews each line as if it was the finest of sirloin, and as a result, steals the film with a hideously outlandish performance. While the film looks extravagant, every time the sets shake, you fear they may fall like the sets from an episode of "Dark Shadows". Still, it is easy to enjoy entertainment but it has been done much better many times before.
