It will probably take me awhile, but I'm going to try and make it my mission to review every Robert Taylor film. To comment on what a terrible, wooden actor I think he was. How I don't believe a single line of dialogue he said throughout his career (Just name the movie).
He was enormously popular, but I think it had to be his looks that got him there. Sounds to me like he's RECITING his lines, not FEELING them. I feel sorry for all the talented actors who played opposite him. They sound so convincing; he sounds to me like a guy doing a cold reading. I can't stand watching him onscreen for more than a few seconds. Am I alone in this ? I wonder.
