Cameraman Daniel Fapp had just collected an Oscar for 'West Side Story', and Elvis got a Bond Girl (introduced in a bright red bikini, after which she as usual rarely appears so attired again) as his leading lady (and was supported by another Oscar winner - Paul Lukas - as her Hungarian-accented father). But the blandness of his later vehicles was already becoming too evident in the presence of a streetwise little orphan; and plainly only the second unit actually went south of the border.
On the plus side, Edith Head adds a female matador's outfit (and matching bikini) to her portfolio, while the best joke in the film goes to an unbilled Howard McNear playing an American tourist from Atlanta.
