It is one of the worst films I have seen in the last decade and I've seen a lot of awful drivel. It is like a badly made replica of 2006's not-too-good Stormbreaker.
The characters are not even cartoonish. The lad who plays Artemis seems to be forced onto the role. The storytelling is awful and I cannot believe Kenneth Branagh who made the first two Thor films and last year's great Murder on the Orient Express was capable of such low quality directing - maybe he is not given a choice by Disney, I don't know.
This also shows that it is Disney's normal direction that is terrible. They ruined Star Wars, they ruined Artemis Fowl. Apparently, the only reason Marvel films including the masterpieces that are Tom Holland's Spider-Man films are any good is because Kevin Feige is running that ship.
Also, why should every single movie including an Irishman should cast Colin Farrell and every single film should have Dame Judy Dench in every sort of role?
I feel like I have wasted an important chunk of my life while watching this nonsense.
