Black & White Paris in the 1960s

Warning: Spoilers
I am a pushover for black and white European films from the mid-twentieth century. Cléo is one such creation. The cinematography is top-notch and the story a sort of strange twist on Mrs. Dalloway, I suppose. The difference being that Cléo is a young woman genuinely concerned about her future corporeal existence, not the meaning of her life.

I had to chuckle at the last part of the film, where a big-time Paris dragueur waltzes in to save the day. I was about the same age as Cléo the first time I traveled to Europe. I spent nearly the whole summer in Paris and quickly learned that single women who go to parks all alone will be accosted by endless streams of young men there to chat, offer cigarettes, whatever. It´s a major thing in Paris, and I enjoyed it as a student of French looking to practice my language skills. But would a Parisian put up with it? Douteux.

I wonder whether anyone else found a striking similarity between the actress who played Cléo and Sharon Stone in her heyday.
