jimmy stewart could do anything
8 April 2020
An awesome collection of hollywood royalty: Jimmy Stewart, Brian Keith, Maureen Ohara. Jimmy Stewart could do anything. and this was TWENTY years after he won the oscar for "Philadelphia Story". Period piece from 1884, as we see in the rodeo, right at the start. It starts pretty silly... a fights break out. Jimmy Stewart is Burnett, who saves the day for Mrs. Price (OHara), when her critters get out of control. Price and her daughter are bringing Hereford cattle into the US for stud services. they hit roadblocks along the way, and hire Burnett to help them. silly antics on the roof of a train. a whole lot of arguing. some fun film locations... Mecca and Mojave California. it's your typical western... good guys versus the bad guys. shoot-outs. great scenery. its a bit tired and dry, but no issues or plot holes. and, of course, bagpipes. Directed by Andrew McLaglen. had also directed Hellfighters and McLintock, and a TON of other films starring john wayne.
