Was the hairstyles on the sisters...sometimes they seemed to be right for the period, other times very bouffant/1950's.
To be honest I find the lives of the Brontes more interesting than the novels, which are a little too gothic for my tastes, much as I enjoy 19th century fiction. Their lives were so full of hardship and tragedy, it is amazing they were able to produce so much work.
