Interesting and suspenseful series about what happens to people who live inside the exclusion zone where an accident ocurred

Post-apocalyptic Spanish series mixing genres, it deals with a man is brutally killed in middle of zona in the North of Spain where occurred a nuclear breakout. After a nuclear accident to be happened, a vast exclusion zone to stop the deadly extension, as it was set up to contain the risk of radioactive propagation. Survivors have been driven at an isolated zone and rehoused in a new city 50 km away from Nogales power plant. After a disaster reality changes forever. After 3 years the destructive accident around a nuclear power plant, Hector : Eduard Fernandez, only survivor of the former tragedy investigates the grisly murderto find the true culprit. He will travel the universe from the horrible accident. Later on, more and more killings take place with several clues, and red herrings, as well. Soon, he learns that the murders have relation wih the terrible nuclear accident and anything else.

The thoughtful and provoking premise is the following : What would happen if there were a nuclear accident at a plant in the North of Spain, though it results to be unnecessary because of not existing plants in the Spanish North. There is a mixed bag, it contains apocalyptic thriller, Film Noir, catastrophe movie, though all of them described from a realist view point. It revolves around a nuclear accident, it results in a real economic tragedy with extreme social-bankrupt consequences. There are several interesting characters, the main Hector, nicely performed by Eduard Fernandez as a veteran cop who survived the terrible accident, experimenting the nuclear disaster in the first person. In fact Hector was unharmed but he still bears psychological sequels due to his son did not have the same luck, as he was demostrating against nuclear power when happened the sad catastrophe . As Hector carries out a deep investigation to find the real culprit. Along with Alejandra Jimenez as Julia, she interprets rightly a military doctor and Hector's lover. While Emma Suarez plays the separated wife of Hector. Alvaro Cervantes acts as a corrupt cop, Hector's helper and colleague, who holds dark secrets. Alba Galocha as a 17-year-old girl who deals with smuggling and executes house bungling and other robbery. Other important secondaries appearing are as follows : Manolo Solo, Juán Echanove, Marina Salas, Luis Zahera, Tamar Novas, Juan Carlos Bellido, Luis Bermejo, Tomas Estal, Luis Bermejo and Sergio Peris Mencheta.

The series in 8 episodes, shot for 15 weeks in 160 locations, being filmed on location in San Esteban de Pravia, Cudillero, Gijon, Asturias and Cantabria. It was well written and directed by two brothers, Jorge and Alberto Cabezudo. But the real director was Jorge who has written and directed various episodes from popular series such as Hispania, Velvet, Bajo sospecha, Hospital Central, Crematorio, Gran Hotel, Guante Blanco and he made a successful film : La noche de los Girasoles. Rating 6/1o decent Spanish series with great actors.
