The movie opens with a heartwarming scene: The Queen Smurf has just finished scavenging a week-old deer carcass in the Dark Forest. She takes to the sky for a while, then descends upon a village with all her might and fury. She lands in the market square and the people gather, because she shrieked them out of bed. Without missing a beat, she cooks a banker with her mind. A nearby pathetic fool tries to get in her way, so she squeezes his torso until his head pops off.
I don't want to give too much away, but eventually the village streets are just covered in blood, heads, scraps of flesh, and discarded intestines. The Queen Smurf giggles, wiping the blood from her beautiful visage. We understand at this point that finally--for the first time in her little Smurf life--she is happy. She conveys this by looking directly into the camera with fully black eyes and emitting a single shriek that lasts 10 minutes.
