History lesson told to the tune of Mel Brook's silent movie
3 February 2020
So, the film is black and white, silent, and seems to read history pages to us about the different characters from the silent movie era while some fine actresses like Jennifer Tilly and Maria Conchita Alonso (Arnold Schwartzneggar's favorite action love interest) portray the likenesses of Clara Bow and Lupe Valez. To be tactful, what a great film this would be if we removed the gimmicks and filmed a conventional comedy drama to give some life to the ghostly caricatures bouncing around here.
