A beautifully depicted impossible love story set in the post-war Albania. You can't help but empathise with all 3 main characters caught in a love triangle. Whilst I would have wished for the 2 lovers to end up together, I could only feel the pain of the female character, who was just trying to find some peace and start over, after the war that snatched both her parents away from her. The director and the actors did such an incredible job at painting beautiful images of the characters' inner struggles and their complex feelings in a still very judgemental society. The wedding scene was my absolute favourite! I can't rate this movie highly enough and I can only say that The Marriage has just opened up a door for me to explore the Kosovar cinema in much more detail.
