Old and young is always relative. There is one's age and then how someone behaves. Director Henri-George Clouzot's "La Verite" was ahead of its time. It is an outstanding examination of love and obsession of the sexes. The dialog is direct and energetic The most interesting aspect of the movie is the juxtaposition of the lovers, exactly as the strongest fundamental line of the movie
narrates out (major spoilers): "we loved each other, but at different times". I've
seen Briggette Bardot in the forgettable "Shalako", but here she gives a strong gutsy, spirited, and believable act. This is an outstanding movie.
