Bully (I) (2011)
6/10
flick on bullying raises questions but no answers

The film follows a handful of kids who are being bullied for a variety of reasons. The ususal : odd face, being or acting gay, a spaz at sports: all the age old reasons . The strange thing is , and perhaps the point of the film. Is nobody helps. There is one scene of a parent of a kid who off d himself talking over a clip of kid in karate. That's the only attempt I saw of anybody trying to help. The kids with the fish face should have had some orthodontics, with a head gear. At that age they can work using growth so the jaw contours could have improved . Cosmetic surgery has improved and should be considered when deformities are involved. Also, the PE teachers never seem to take the spaz's aside and try to give them skill training . It's like if their fathers didn't teach them at home they will have no chance of help from anywhere else. Today, parents coddle their kids and tell them their beautiful : PROBLEM! They have each other and THEY will be frank about defects . They go from an artificial soft world into the real world. On top of this they don't punish kids anymore , so they know they can get away w bullying because they never get punished for anything .
