Uzamaid!
29 December 2018
This series is centred on Misha Takanashi, a Russian girl who lives with her Japanese step father, and Tsubame Kamoi, a former Japanese airwoman who has become Misha's family maid. It is made abundantly from the start that Tsubame's interest in Misha is far from healthy and Misha is quite aware of this. This means much of the series involves Tsubame trying to befriend Misha but usually just coming across as creepy. Added to this mix are a couple of Misha's classmates and Tsubame former boss who is a masochist and has a crush on her.

One has to wonder where the creators get their ideas from; the premise of this series screams unsuitability... that said if you can get over the creepiness it manages to be pretty funny at times. This is largely because Misha invariably gets the better of Tsubame even if she can't get her sacked. It also helps that Tsubame isn't just a pervert; she does genuinely care for Misha and tries to help her; she just fails to see in inappropriateness of some of her actions. There are some surprisingly touching moments such as when she takes the blame when Misha's friends make a mess of her late mother's room. Overall this series isn't as bad as it sounds and provides a decent number of laughs.
