This film is really similar to a film called Abigail's party directed by Mike Leigh. I think the director has the same way of making the film which is all improvising. The characters have been developed by the director individually and then they met on set and start improvising that's why we see technical problems in the the dialogues because they're all made up by the characters. It's not that the film is about party and drugs it's just some characters around each other making a story happen. Watch Mike Leigh's films and you will realise.
